Principal's Message

Welcome to Washington Shores Elementary!

Myrlene Kimble

Hello Jaguar Families,

It is hard to believe that we are already in October of our school year.  I have enjoyed getting to know our young Jaguars. Our school team is working hard to support their learning and social development. We are asking that you support us in our efforts by allowing them to share what they are learning with you so that these skills are reinforced at home. This is vital to the overall success of your child.

Thursday, October 7, 2021, was the last day of the first marking period, and report cards will post on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Your child’s teacher will be contacting you to schedule a conference to discuss progress and strategies to help with you child's success. Research shows that children are more successful when they have parents who take the time to be involved in their school.

Finally, I want to share that we have rolled out a Positive Student Behavior Incentive Plan to continually train, reinforce and model appropriate behaviors, good citizenship and proper manners throughout our campus (see below). I am asking that you join in with our school team and support our efforts. It is imperative that in addition to providing the best possible education for our young scholars, we must also train and model life-long safety habits for them. I thank you in advance for working with the Washington Shores school team to make this school year an awesome one.

Warmest Regards,

Myrlene J. Kimble
